National Air & Space Intelligence Association (NASIA)

The Association exists to enable the extensive talents and professional experiences of our members to be used to foster increased recognition of the importance of Scientific & Technical Intelligence (S&TI) contributions to the United States of America, to the preservation of democracy, to the maintenance of world peace and to the educational advancement of the children and grandchildren of the workforce.
This is done via the following:

• Fosters advanced education by providing financial support for the post-high-school education expenses of children and grandchildren of current and former workforce personnel.
• Provides a structure for the open exchange of information related to the past and current S&TI mission among former and current workforce regarding legacy accomplishments, current activities, and plans.
• Promotes and supports frequent interaction among current and former workforce personnel, which in turn serves to initiate and preserve a sense of comradeship and loyalty among all. This is done by providing support to official personnel recognition activities, by supporting appropriate social and professional development activities, and by recognizing the accomplishments of current and former personnel.

What do we do?

Provide Scholarships to the NASIC/NSIC family

The Larry L. Benson Scholarship Program recognizes: (1) the children and grandchildren of current employees (active-duty military, civilian employees, and children of contractors), and (2) children and grandchildren of former employees (Alumni) of predecessor organizations.

• In 2022 the NASIC Association awarded $30,000 scholarships to 32 students. Visit our website for the latest application information.

Maintain the Legacy of Technical Intelligence Trailblazers

The current workforce stands on the shoulders of those that came before them.

• Trailblazers have lessons learned that can be shared with current workforce. 
• Airmen & Guardians want to learn about the history of their mission.

Provide Social Connections

• We provide informal social activities to maintain contact with current and former colleagues and friends.

Support NASIC Morale Activities

• We help sponsor civilian and military activities such as: Children’s Holiday Party, Oktoberfest, Golf Outings, and Summerfest.

Our Background

Previously known as the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) Association. We changed our name in 2024, to broaden our mission to include both US Air Force and US Space Force S&TI professionals.

There are now two Dept of the Air Force Scientific & Technical Intelligence (S&TI) focused organizations at WPAFB: National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) and National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC). NASIC is the USAF’s descendent of the historical organizations (T2, FTD, NAIC, etc.). NSIC is the US Space Force’s S&T center that is evolving from portions of NASIC’s space functions/squadrons.

To demonstrate and clearly define the Association's mission of supporting both critical missions, by removing the focus on “Center” we are broadening our focus to include everyone that is involved in the S&TI mission (principally in the Wright-Patterson region), not just the legacy building.

This group is to share information about our members, activities, and topics of mutual interest. The NASIA is open to all current and former employees of NASIC and NSIC including mililtary, civilian, and contractors.
